Silversea's Reassurance Program ensures you peace of mind
and the maximum flexibility when planning your cruise. It can protect you from
the penalties and anxieties of canceling your cruise for any reason. Instead of
losing 100% of the total charges paid for your Silversea cruise vacation
(including air, pre- and/or post-cruise hotel programs and land packages), you
will receive a Reassurance Cruise Credit for any and all cancellation
penalties, regardless of why you choose to cancel.
The fee for the 2007 Reassurance Program is 3% of each
guest's total trip cost when purchased in connection with Silversea's GuestCare
travel insurance. When purchased on its own without
Silversea's GuestCare travel insurance the fee for the Reassurance Program is 8%
of each guest's total trip cost. The total trip cost includes, but is not limited to
the cruise fare, any of Silversea's optional travel programs and transfers.
Reassurance is not available for purchase on the World Cruise.
Terms and Conditions:
- The optional Reassurance Program is available on all 2007 voyages.
- The optional Reassurance Program must be added at the time of booking
and must be paid for at the time of deposit.
- The Reassurance fee is only refundable on bookings canceled at least
91 days prior to departure.
- The Reassurance Cruise Credit does not include the Reassurance Program fee or
GuestCare premium if applicable
- Cancellation for any reason will only be accepted 1 - 14 days prior to cruise departure.
In order to receive the Reassurance Cruise Credit, the booking must be cancelled at least 24
hours prior to cruise departure. "No Shows" forfeit the 100% Reassurance Cruise Credit.
- Standard terms according to GuestCare and/or existing cancellation policy remain for any
bookings cancelled 15 or more days prior to departure.
- The Reassurance Program 100% Reassurance Cruise Credit is not combinable with any other
cancellation payments; program or claims, including those made through Silversea GuestCare.
- The Reassurance Program is separate from Silversea GuestCare administered by BerkelyCare.
Guests insured under Silversea GuestCare, canceling for a covered reason, must file a claim
with BerkelyCare. If the claim is denied by BerkelyCare for any reason, the guests may then
apply for the Reassurance Program Cruise Credit. All claims filed with BerkelyCare will supersede
the Reassurance Program 100% Reassurance Cruise Credit benefit. All terms and conditions related
to GuestCare claims will also supersede those of the Reassurance Program when a claim is filed with
BerkelyCare and paid.
- The Reassurance Cruise Credit is valid for travel within 12 months from the date of the cancelled
voyage and will be issued in accordance with the cancelled booking as either air/sea or cruise-only,
and will be applied after any other savings incentives are applied (i.e. APB, EBI , Silver Sailings,
and Venetian Society).
- Reassurance credits can not be applied towards port charges, government fees and taxes or the
purchase of air upgrades, land programs, transfers and insurance.
- Reassurance Cruise Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
- Reassurance Cruise Credits received as part of the Reassurance Program cannot be used
in conjunction with non-combinable offers.
- Premiums paid for Silversea's GuestCare or Reassurance Program will not be included in the
Reassurance Cruise Credit.
- Previously issued Silversea Cruise Credits or Shipboard Credits will not be included in the
Reassurance Cruise Credit but will be returned to guests for their future use and will be subject
to the credit's original terms and conditions. If the original credit's expiration date is earlier
than that of the Reassurance Cruise Credit, a new Cruise Credit or Shipboard Credit will be issued
to correspond with the expiration date of the Reassurance Cruise Credit.
- The Reassurance Program is subject to change or withdrawal without prior notice.
- The Reassurance Program is not available to those passengers booking their Silversea cruise
holiday using a Reassurance Cruise Credit, unless the total value of the cruise holiday exceeds
the Reasurrance Cruise Credit in which case the Reassurance Program will only be offered on the
portion of the total charges which exceeds the Reassurance Cruise Credit.
- The Reassurance Cruise Credit may only be used to book travel during the allowed twelve
month period. If cancellation is made on travel booked using a Reassurance Cruise Credit,
the value of the Reassurance Cruise Credit will be subject to Silversea's standard cancellation
policy terms. Any residual Reassurance Cruise Credit balance resulting from the cancellation
penalty imposed may be applied to a future cruise holiday which embarks during the original
twelve month period. Under no circumstances will any outstanding credit be available for use
after the original twelve month period has ended.
These fees and terms & conditions apply to North and South American guests. International customers should contact their Vacations To Go travel counselor for information regarding fees and terms & conditions.
Please note: This Reassurance Program is separate from the "Silversea GuestCare" Optional Insurance program which covers trip cancellation and interruption, trip delay, accident and sickness medical expenses and emergency evacuation, baggage and personal effects, baggage delay, traveler's assistance.
SilverSea Guestcare Optional Travel Insurance Program
Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection
If you were to
cancel or interrupt your cruise for covered reasons (such as an unforeseen
medical condition affecting you, your traveling companion, or an immediate
family member), you would be reimbursed for covered cancellation penalties
and/or the value of the unused portion of your trip and other covered expenses,
up to your full cruise vacation cost.
Trip Delay
If you were to miss
the departure of your cruise due to weather-related flight cancellations,
equipment failure of an aircraft, or other covered reasons, you would be
reimbursed for reasonable additional expenses for accommodations, meals, and
one-way economy air ticket up to $1,000.
Accident and Sickness Medical Expenses & Emergency
Evacuation
If you were to experience
a covered sickness or injury during your cruise vacation, you would be
reimbursed for your covered medical expenses up to $10,000. In addition,
GuestCare would also arrange for, and pay the cost of, emergency air or ground
ambulance transportation in the event of a medical emergency up to $30,000.
These are especially valuable benefits because Medicare and many private
insurance policies generally do not cover medical expenses incurred overseas.
Baggage & Personal Effects Protection
If your baggage or
its contents were to be lost, stolen, or damaged, you would be reimbursed for
the cost of repair or replacement up to $3,000.
Baggage Delay
If your checked
baggage were delayed for over 24 hours the plan would reimburse you for your
purchase of essential items up to $500.
Worldwide Travelers’ Assistance
GuestCare also
provides a Travelers’ Assistance Hotline offering 24-hour-a-day, worldwide
access to a broad range of services.
