Please check wedding space availability with Carnival's wedding department prior to booking your cruise. Please also pay close attention to wedding license requirements, port regulations and boarding procedures.
Due to limited space all wedding reservations will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Reception rooms will be subject to availability.
Weddings must be booked no later than 35 business days prior to sailing. Only Carnival's wedding department can confirm the wedding date, time and location of your ceremony and
reception.
Booking a Wedding:
All wedding couples should book their Carnival cruise prior to booking their Carnival wedding package. Carnival's Wedding Coordinator will assist you with the planning stages of your wedding such as the time and location of your ceremony, reception, guests lists, floral upgrades, wedding cakes, live entertainment, tuxedos, photography services and video packages.
A local wedding Officiant (notary) will perform your ceremony. A licensing coordinator will assist you in obtaining your marriage license through the mail (where applicable). You will be contacted by your wedding Officiant closer to the sailing date in order to coordinate all your ceremony details and explain the day's events from the time you arrive to the completion of your ceremony.
Full payment is due at the time of booking your wedding. Weddings can be booked by phone with a credit card (all major credit cards accepted). Advance reservations are required if you would like to mail in your payment (travel agency checks, cashier's check or money order are accepted). Due to a limited amount of space, if you wish to mail in your payment, your wedding reservation will be put on hold for 48 hours. No notice of cancellation will follow.

Pre-Cruise Travel Arrangements
Carnival Cruise Lines strongly recommends that the bridal party arrives at least one day prior to sailing to avoid late flights, traffic etc., on their wedding day. Coming in the day prior is not a requirement for the wedding program, only a suggestion. (Anyone using Carnival's Fly Aweigh Program may need to deviate their flights in order to ensure arrival in time for priority boarding.) Early flights the day of sailing may not be available due to airline availability or scheduling.
Travel arrangements such as flight times, transportation to the pier from the airport and/or hotel are not arranged by Carnival Weddings Department. To coordinate your Carnival pre-cruise travel packages, your Vacations To Go group specialist must make arrangements with Carnival's Reservation or Group Reservation Departments. For a nominal fee, Carnival's Air Sea Deviation Department will coordinate your customized flight times; your Vacations To Go group specialist must make arrangements with Carnival's Air Sea Deviation Department no later than 45 days prior to your cruise.
Please note that the transfers Carnival offers to the port will not get you there on time. Please make alternate arrangements for prompt transportation to the pier.
Priority Check-In:
Priority boarding is provided for couples being married the day of embarkation, once the ship is cleared by U.S. Customs. All wedding ceremonies are timed, priced and coordinated for the time allotted for your specific package.
Please be aware that you need to be at the pier at the time indicated by your coordinator for priority boarding. PLEASE BE PROMPT. Couples being married later in the cruise will follow general boarding procedures.
Wedding Guests:
The remainder of the bridal party and all wedding attendees will also be required to arrive for early check-in with the couple. Your coordinator will indicate the early check-in time that is required for your port. Boarding for the wedding couples & their guests will commence once the ship is cleared by customs.
Non-sailing guests will need to disembark the ship at least one hour prior to sailing (approximately 3:00pm) in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Pt. Canaveral, Tampa, Jacksonville, Baltimore, New York, Galveston, Mobile & San Diego, New Orleans (3:30 pm), Long Beach (4:00 pm). Non-sailing guests are required to disembark immediately following the ceremony/reception in all outports.
Your final guest list along with payment is due to Carnival no later than 3 weeks prior to sailing.
Please Note: Guests who cancel within the week of sailing are considered no-shows and are not eligible for a refund.
The Wedding Ceremony:
Civil ceremonies are performed in English by a Notary Public. Ceremonies in the ports of St. Thomas, Galveston, New Orleans, California, Barbados, Nassau, Jamaica, St. Maarten and Grand Cayman are non-denominational and performed by a minister. Weddings in Cozumel are performed by a judge.
Weddings are not performed on the deck of the ship, at sea in the cabin or by the ship's captain. A witness can be provided if necessary. You will receive detailed wedding information and contracts after your wedding is booked. (For those planning a St. Thomas wedding, Carnival's local wedding representative there will mail the ceremony information to you directly.) Please complete the information in its entirety and return it to the address provided on the forms. Carnival's local representative performing your ceremony, can answer additional questions and explain the days events from the time you arrive to the completion of your ceremony.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints, ceremony changes cannot be permitted the day of the wedding.
Times and Locations:
All ceremonies are performed in port before the ship sails. Carnival has chosen several locations on board at which to have your wedding ceremony/reception. Locations are determined based on the number of guests attending, length of reception and entertainment requests. Ceremonies are scheduled and confirmed within two weeks of sailing - all times are approximate and can be delayed or changed due to unforeseen events. It is not recommended that you and your guests plan shore excursions on the day of your wedding.
Florals:
All packages include one bridal bouquet with matching boutonniere for the groom. Bouquets for attendants, and other floral upgrades, can only be ordered through a Carnival Wedding Coordinator or through your Wedding Officiant. If you would like to bring your own flowers they must be silk, due to U.S. Agricultural restrictions. Any fresh flowers that are purchased for your ceremony cannot be taken off of the ship.
Photographs:
You will have the opportunity to preview and purchase your wedding photos during the cruise. Your photography service includes a Carnival photographer who will take photos throughout the ceremony, champagne toast and cake cutting (or reception, if applicable). The photographer will also take formal portraits of the bridal couple, as well as shots at various locations throughout the
ship. Please note that your Carnival photographer will be responsible for providing you with information and prices on your wedding photo purchases.
Licensing Requirements:
All wedding couples are responsible for obtaining their own license. You must obtain a license from the state or island where your wedding will be performed. All licensing fees are priced separately from Carnival's wedding package and are paid at the time you submit your pre-application. All licensing fees are non-refundable. Carnival's wedding department will mail further information explaining how to obtain your marriage license at time of booking.
Additional Information:
Due to time constraints, beauty salon appointments are not available the day of embarkation. It is suggested that you consult with your hotel's salon if coming in the day prior. Additional wedding package enhancements are available and will be mailed to you at time of booking. These include tuxedo rentals and video packages (based on availability). Additional food and beverage service and live entertainment options are also available on a first come first served basis for those couples that have purchased a reception package.
Cancellation Policy:
Written cancellation MUST be received in Carnival's office by the date specified below if you wish to cancel your wedding. Weddings must be canceled separately from your cruise.
Cancellation policy is as follows:
76 or more days prior to sailing - Full refund
75 to 46 days prior to sailing - $150.00 cancellation charge
45 to 8 days prior to sailing - 50% of total wedding charges
Within 7 days of sailing - No refund
Change in Itinerary:
Carnival wedding department reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any wedding at any time and for any reason whatsoever without prior notice, and shall not be held liable for any inconveniences caused to guests by reason of such cancellation or rescheduling.
Sales Tax:
All weddings taking place in any of U.S. ports are subject to sales tax.
Hurricane Season:
June 10th through November 10th is hurricane season. In the event any of Carnival's regular home ports or outports is under hurricane or tropical storm watch or warning, and your wedding cannot take place, Carnival will reschedule your wedding to another port, or cancel your wedding. In the event your wedding cannot take place, you will be fully refunded. During this season, all wedding couples being married on any outport (island) will need to send Carnival Weddings copies of their passport or birth certificates as well as copies of divorce or death decrees (if applicable).
Shipboard & Destination Wedding Restrictions
A maximum of 50 non-sailing guests will be allowed per wedding.
Bubbles, rice, confetti, candles, birdseed, and/or rose petals will not be allowed on any
onboard weddings.
Cake servers and knives will not be allowed.
Fresh flowers and food items cannot be boarded or taken off the ship in any port.
Couples providing their own minister for religious ceremonies are limited to 15 -20 minutes.
Couples providing own music are limited to 3 songs for the ceremony.
No professional photographers, videographers, entertainment or equipment are permitted onboard

Obtaining a marriage license in Nassau, Bahamas:
Application by mail, but must swear in before U.S. Consul at American Embassy in Nassau (includes transportation) - $355.00 fee. The following charges are included in the $355.00 marriage license fee stated above:
Notarization Fee - $40.00 per couple for U.S. and Canadian citizens.
Non-United States or Canadian Citizens Notarization Fee - This is a special notarization fee that is not included in the marriage license fee of $355.00. This fee for non-U.S. and Canadian citizens varies based on the applicant's citizenship. At the time of booking, your wedding consultant will inquire and confirm your notarization fee, which will be added to the marriage license fee.
Note: Even if one member of the couple is not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, this special notarization fee will apply.
