Anacortes is a bustling seaside town in the Pacific Northwest. Found on Fidalgo Island, it is nestled perfectly between Seattle and Vancouver. The town was first established in 1879 as Ship Harbour. After being incorporated in 1891, the city became a lumber and fishing center. Today, Anacortes is a major dock for Washington State Ferries.
