Cremona, Italy

This provincial capital lies near the Po River amid the fertile northern plains. Cremona offers some very attractive churches and palaces richly decorated with terra cotta tiles, as well as a harbor on the Po Canal. The town is best known for its famous violin makers – Amati, Stradivarius and Guarneri, and the tradition continues today.
