For cruises from Florida to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Panama Canal, Mexico or Europe:
Florida cruises leave from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Tampa and Jacksonville. Most itineraries are in the Caribbean, Bahamas, Panama Canal or Trans-Atlantic. See specific departure ports below for more information.
Cruises from Miami in South Florida go to the Caribbean, Bahamas and through the Panama Canal. Some trans-Atlantic repositioning cruises start in Miami.
Miami is home to a diverse array of cultures and activities. Coral Gables, with its tree-lined avenues and gracefully winding roadways, is the city's artsy area. Ocean Drive is Miami Beach's prime "see-and-be-seen" locale, where beachgoers frolic against the backdrop of colorful art deco buildings. Nightlife in Miami is among the liveliest in the world, with concentrations of discos and bars in South Beach and Coconut Grove.
Cruises from Fort Lauderdale, in South Florida, visit the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Fort Lauderdale also is a starting point for Panama Canal cruises and trans-Atlantic repositioning cruises.
While in Fort Lauderdale, stroll fashionable Las Olas Boulevard or board a sightseeing boat for a cruise through the city's canals. Excursions to the Everglades are available, where you can take an airboat tour of this vast wetland wilderness known for its variety of birds and other wildlife.
Cruises from Port Canaveral, on Florida's mid-Atlantic Coast, visit the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Port Canaveral also is the Florida home port for Disney Cruises.
Port Canaveral is near the amusement parks of Orlando and the exhibits of the Kennedy Space Center. Visitors can take ride an airboat through Bald Cypress Swamp, where you'll be whisked over a sea of grass into a pristine, watery ecosystem.
Cruises from Tampa, on the Gulf Coast, sail to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
Miles of sandy shoreline bring tourists to Tampa Bay's beaches, but the city has more to offer than fun in the sun. The Channelside Entertainment Complex provides shopping, dining and entertainment near the port. Or stroll along Bayshore Boulevard, dubbed "the world's longest sidewalk." The National Historic Landmark District of Ybor City, the cigar-making capital of the world in the late 1800s, is brought to life with art galleries, museums, cigar bars and dance clubs open late into the night.
Cruises from Jacksonville, on Florida's upper Atlantic Coast, go to the Bahamas.
In Jacksonville, visitors can tour the headquarters of the Professional Golf Association or the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens, an ecologically aware zoo. The Museum of Science and History has an excellent Civil War collection.
