Hatiheu, Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia

Hatiheu Bay is located on the northern coast of Taiohae, Nuku Hiva, the administrative, economic, educational and medical center of the Marquesas Islands. A 1,000-foot Virgin Mary statue overlooks the bay from a nearby hill. Hatiheu was a favorite destination of Robert Louis Stevenson.
