Imperia is a town where the cliffs of the mountains meet the sea and lush flowers and trees grow everywhere. Filled with winding alleyways, pastel-colored houses and small squares, the town's links with the sea are apparent in the Naval Museum. In September, Imperia hosts some of the most beautiful antique wooden boats from all over the world,in town for the annual regatta. The Museo dell'Olivo follows the region's rich culinary history in documents, machinery and tools detailing the history of olive oil.
