Resting around a well-protected bay, Klaksvik is a picturesque town in the Northern Islands of the Faroe Islands. It has all of the conveniences and facilities expected of a town despite the small population size. At the front of the harbor, visitors will see the towering pyramid mountain on the island of Kunoy, and upon entering, the hillside can be seen beautifully covered with local dwellings. One of the most popular attractions in Klaksvik is the mail boat that like the ones featured in the Lonely Planet guidebook. This popular boat will take guests to various outside destinations from the islands of Fugloy and Svinoy. Other attractions can include an amateur theater group, vibrant music, Faroese boat racing, and more.
