Maria La Gorda is a small, secluded beach settlement in Pinar del Rio, Cuba's westernmost province. Scuba diving is the main attraction here, with many dive sites close to the beach. Visitors can also take a trip further inland to hike through mountain paths, go rock climbing or explore the caves near Vinales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
