Salina is one of seven Aeolian islands, famous for its volcanoes. Though the volcanoes have been dormant for over 13,000 years, the islands is still a sight to see with diverse landscapes covered in a large variety of vegetation often found in the Mediterranean. The island is divided into three communities: Santa Marina, Malfa, and Leni. Other villages, such as Rinella and Valdichiesa, can be found on the island as well. The towns offer quaint cobbled streets where travelers can sample the local specialties or venture down to the pebble beaches to enjoy the ocean view. Those who wish to travel between the villages can hop aboard the bus that runs regularly around the island.
