Yichang is located near the infamous Three Gorges Dam, which is currently under construction. Visitors to the area will be amazed by the project that will forever change the legendary scenery of Three Gorges and the Yangtze River. The dam will be the world's largest and most powerful hydro-electric project of its kind, stretching 610 feet high and 1.3 miles wide. As one of China's key tourist cities, Yichang also offers such excursion possibilities as Shennongjia Natural Reserve Area, Binjian Park and Martyr's Mausoleum.
