Hurtigruten Dining Information
Enjoy a variety of traditional Norwegian cuisine during your cruise. Begin your day with a buffet-style breakfast offering a variety of cold meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit and freshly baked breads. Lunch is a traditional ‘Cold Table’ with a selection of smoked and poached fish, cold meats, salad, some hot dishes, as well as desserts and fruit. Finally, dinner is 3-course set meal, and there is usually no other choice in addition to the set meal. The main course is either meat or fish, generally served with potatoes or vegetables.
Main Dining Room Policies: Upon embarkation, passengers should go to the restaurant onboard to make their table reservation for the duration of the voyage. In high season, mealtimes may vary if there are several sittings. The usual meal times are: Breakfast from 7:00am-10:00am (open seating) Lunch from 12:00pm-2:30pm (open seating) Dinner from 6:30pm-9:00pm (set seating as determined at beginning of your voyage) Passengers are not required to change for dinner, but if they choose to do so the dress is ‘smart casual’ rather than formal.
Beverage Policy: Coffee and tea are included with lunch and dinner. Other beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, during the day are at an additional cost.
Special Requests: Special diets can be catered for as long as passengers advise the cruise line ahead of time. Passengers with very strict requests may find limited variety among the food offered.
All dining areas onboard Hurtigruten ships are smoke-free.
