Kolyuchin Island, located in the Chukchi Sea, is a small island uninhabited and covered in tundra vegetation. The island was previously used as the base for a meteorological station, but that has since been abandoned. There are steep bird cliffs along the island that house Pelagic Cormorants, Thick-billed Murres, and Kittiwakes. Other bird species include Tufted and Horned Puffins. Walrus herds have been known to frequent the shores and waters around Kolyuchin as well.
