Tikehau is a coral atoll in the Palliser Islands group of French Polynesia. It features a large, oval-shaped lagoon and hosts a rich collection of marine life such as snapper, clownfish, crabs and reef sharks. The atoll is made up of two major islands and many smaller islets that are mostly uninhabited. Today, the pink sand beaches, clear water, and exceptional underwater inhabitants make Tikehau a popular touristic destination. Visitors will find themselves spending hours exploring the village of Tuherahera, snorkeling and diving in the lagoon, and boating around the islands.
