Terraced vineyards cover the rolling hills around the town of Regua, where the Corgo and Douro rivers meet. Regua is a busy port town, and much of its business comes from the port wine made in its hills. The town is on the edge of the western boundary of Portugal's port wine region and is the home to the headquarters of the Port Wine Institute, the Casa do Douro.
