An Australia/New Zealand cruise introduces passengers to the scenic beauty
of the land Down Under. Explore Australia's sophisticated cities, visit
wildlife parks or take an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef for snorkeling,
scuba diving or sailing. In New Zealand, you'll discover the islands' diverse
landscapes, from alpine mountains and beautiful lakes to rugged cliffs and
sand beaches. Wander through Maori villages, dine at a cafe in Auckland,
visit a kiwi farm or enjoy the gardens of Christchurch.
Some Australia/New Zealand cruises also make calls in Asia. Each year,
there are a few long cruises to Australia from ports on the US mainland,
such as New York or Los Angeles.
The Australia/New Zealand cruise season is October through March
Most Australia/New Zealand cruises are 7 to 18 nights in length, but
longer cruises are offered.
If you fly from North America to Australia/New Zealand to begin
your cruise, you will cross the International Date Line and lose
a day. Furthermore, your flight will take nearly an entire day.
This requires that you leave your hometown for your port of departure
at least two days in advance of your Australian/New Zealand cruise.
However, we suggest that you leave three or four days before your
cruise to allow time to rest and get oriented before boarding the
ship. Most cruise lines offer pre-cruise hotel packages.
