Voyager Travel Protection: More Than Just Travel Insurance for Your Cruise

Whether you’re setting sail with Azamara for the first time or you’ve already fallen in love with immersive destination cruising, you probably know travel insurance can be an essential part of trip planning.

But did you know there’s a coverage option designed specifically for cruises and for travelers who want more than the basics?

Voyager Travel Protection goes beyond standard travel insurance. It’s built exclusively for the cruise experience—from home to ship, shore to home again—so you can explore knowing that if the unexpected happens, you have specialized protection at your side.

Cruise Insurance vs. Standard Travel Insurance

Most travel insurance plans cover general mishaps like flight cancellations or lost luggage. Cruise-specific protection adds layers of support designed for travelers at sea—covering circumstances that traditional policies often overlook. Voyager is crafted with cruise realities in mind: onboard medical care, delayed departures, and missed ports. It’s the difference between basic coverage and truly seamless protection that travels with you every nautical mile.

What Makes Voyager Travel Protection Different

Voyager includes up to $75,000 in Emergency Medical Expense coverage and up to $1 million for Medical Evacuation and Repatriation, helping to protect against unexpected out-of-pocket costs.

Whether you twist an ankle or experience an unexpected illness, Voyager can help you access care quickly so your health and your wallet both stay protected.

Emergency Medical Evacuation
In rare but serious cases, travelers may need to be airlifted off the ship or transported to a higher-level facility. Voyager’s robust $1 million evacuation and repatriation benefit helps cover the cost of medically necessary transport so you can focus on recovery, not expenses.

Trip Interruption and Cancellation
Cruising is about ease, but life doesn’t always cooperate. Voyager provides reimbursement for unused, prepaid trip costs if you must cancel or cut your trip short for a covered reason such as:
  • Illness, injury, or death of you, a family member, or traveling companion
  • Severe weather or natural disaster impacting your itinerary
  • Quarantine, jury duty, or employment termination
  • Mechanical issues or cruise disruptions that delay your return home
Voyager covers up to 100% of your trip cost for cancellation and 150% of trip cost for interruption, helping you recoup your investment when plans change unexpectedly.

Missed Connections and Travel Delays

Getting to your ship on time isn’t always smooth sailing. A delayed flight or missed connection could mean missing your embarkation entirely. Voyager helps reimburse unexpected costs like hotels, meals, and transportation and can help you rejoin your cruise at the next port if delayed for a covered reason. And if weather or airline disruptions cause an overnight delay, coverage of up to $300 per day (max $1,600) keeps you comfortable while you wait.

Baggage Loss or Delay
Lost luggage can dampen even the most exciting embarkation day. Voyager covers up to $3,000 for lost or damaged baggage and $600 for delayed bags
If your luggage is slow to arrive, you’ll be reimbursed for essential clothing and personal items so you can start your voyage without missing a moment.

Cruise-Specific Coverage Designed for Real-World Scenarios

Ship Diversion
Unexpected events like port closures can alter even the best-laid itineraries.
If your ship must change course, Voyager provides coverage and assistance to help you make alternate travel arrangements or receive reimbursement for lost experiences.

Lost Travel Documents
Losing your passport at sea can be stressful especially when your ship won’t wait. Voyager’s 24/7 assistance services help you secure emergency travel documentation and coordinate with local embassies so you can continue your journey smoothly.

24/7 Global Travel Assistance

Through On Call International, Voyager travelers receive worldwide emergency support, including:
  • Medical evacuation coordination
  • Prescription replacement assistance
  • Translation and interpretation
  • Legal referrals
  • Lost baggage or document assistance
  • Concierge and business services
It’s like having a dedicated global support team no matter where in the world you’re sailing.

Confidence for Every Passenger

Cruises are about indulgence, discovery, and connection—not worry. Voyager Travel Protection helps safeguard your trip investment and well-being, so you can focus on creating memories that last long after you return home.

With primary emergency medical coverage, high benefit limits, and round-the-clock support, Voyager goes beyond the ordinary to deliver protection to help provide you with an exceptional Azamara experience.
