Port Mahon, Menorca, Spain

Mahon is the capital of Menorca in the Balearic islands. The island offers beaches with water-sport rentals and a golf course in Son Park. From the harbor, the Rampa de la Abundancia leads up to the Plaza de Espana, where market stalls line the arcades of the former Carmelite friary. The town hall and the church of Santa Maria both stand in the Plaza de la Constitucion. The Ateneo Cientifico houses a museum of natural history, archaeology and art. Around the island, one finds small fishing villages and well-maintained holiday resorts. The Xoriguer Gin Distillery is located near the pier and provides samples and the opportunity to purchase their product.
