Provincetown truly is a beautiful seaside town, famous as much for its distinctly New England appeal as for its ability to attract artists, writers and playwrights of note. There is little in the way of commercialism in Provincetown, although there are plenty of appealing shops and galleries. The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is nearby and perfect for a lazy afternoon, and there is a great local playhouse and dance company with plenty of shows to view.
