From 8am to 6pm, explore the island of St. Maarten. Flying two flags, this island is half-French and half-Dutch. Cruise ships more commonly call on the Dutch side of St. Maarten, known for its shop-lined, narrow lanes and daytime casinos. Island tours, cruising on an America's Cup yacht and snorkeling excursions are offered in Philipsburg. Golfers should check out Mullet Bay.
Wednesday. February 19th
From 7am to 5pm, discover the charm of St. Kitts. St. Kitts is home to some of the best examples of West Indian architecture, all of which is set amid a dramatically beautiful landscape. The best shore excursion is a well-organized island tour, featuring a visit to the 17th-century British fortress at Brimstone Hill and the sites of the capital. The beaches here are magnificent, including Friar's Bay, which opens to the Atlantic and the Caribbean.
Thursday, February 20th
From 7am to 2pm, sample the flavors of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Old San Juan is rich in Spanish tradition, with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. This part of the Puerto Rican city is easily seen on foot, and cruise passengers can shop for handcrafted works or relax in a shaded park. New San Juan is distinctly elegant with lavish resorts, great restaurants and grand casinos. Visitors in San Juan can join an excursion to El Yunque, the only tropical rain forest in the U.S. national forest system. Adventurous travelers will want to partake in a deep-sea fishing, snorkeling or diving excursion.
Friday, February 21st
From 10am to 6pm, enjoy the private island of Labadee, Haiti. Labadee is a private beach paradise, located on the north coast of Hispaniola. Visitors can participate in a number of beach activities including parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling or just relaxing and taking in the beautiful coast and surrounding mountains and foliage. Labadee also offers a floating Aqua Park and local shops so visitors can take home souvenirs to remember this gorgeous destination.
