Did you know that Vacations To Go has a roommate match program? If you're looking to sail and would like a roommate, our singles department will find you a match. If we don't, we'll pay the single supplement for your stateroom and you'll pay only the per-person, double-occupancy rate. The Match Program is offered to nonsmokers on the least expensive inside, oceanview and balcony cabin types only and is not combinable with any special fares. Now, please turn your attention to a recap of our January Singles sailing on the beautiful Sky Princess.On January 13, our Vacations To Go Singles set sail on the Sky Princess from Fort Lauderdale, FL. We explored the beautiful ports of Princess Cays, San Juan, Grand Turk and Amber Cove.
The first stop was Princess Cays for a day spent relaxing! The group got to know each other on Princess' private island with a beach day full of fun games, delicious BBQ and reggae music.
We arrived in San Juan the following day. Mark P. from Riverton, UT, Paul B., and his daughter Cami B. from Wapato, WA joined the hosts on a Bacardi Rum tour to taste the best rum sold in Puerto Rico! That night onboard was the captain's formal night. Kathy S. from Marlton, NJ and Victoria P. from Ponte Vedra, FL joined the ship's officers to pour champagne down the tower.
The next morning, the boat docked in Grand Turk, where the singles embarked on an exclusive snorkeling excursion. They witnessed an amazing coral shelf wall and got to engage with the ocean life. Candance P. from Jacksonville, FL held a wild stingray that the captain has been feeding for years -- it came right up to us! The captain also caught a starfish for us to take pictures with and dove for a fresh conch. Back on the beach, he whipped up fresh conch ceviche for the group to enjoy!
For our last stop, we visited Amber Cove. In the morning, the group enjoyed a private tour of the city. We first walked down the famous Umbrella Street. Afterward, we went to the Paseo de Doña Blanca, also known as 'Pink Street,' for a picture-perfect backdrop. Did you know that Pink Street is home to the birthplace of tourism in Puerto Plata? We spent the rest of the day relaxing at Blue Jacktar Beach, where Peggy P. from North Billerica, MA encouraged others to join her for a cold dip in the Atlantic Ocean.
The singles spent the final day at sea, hanging out by the pool and participating in Battle of the Sexes! The night ended with cocktails and karaoke! Rose K. from Sun City, AZ, John C. from Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Harvey M. from Webster, NY were just a few among the amazing voices.
