The Butang Island Group is part of the Tarutao National Marine Park in the Andaman Sea, near Thailand's border with Malaysia. All of the 51 islands in the archipelago, with the exception of Koh Lipe, which houses the islands' park administration, are uninhabited, meaning visitors have access to nearly untouched beaches, waterfalls and rainforests. The waters around the islands are perfect for diving or snorkeling, and a quiet stroll along the beach might not be uninterrupted by anyone or anything other than an inquisitive monkey.
