A favorite respite in the splendor of the Moselle Valley, Cochem has an idyllic setting amid vine-clad hills, overlooked by a magical neo-Gothic castle that was romantically restored in the 19th century. The little town has three fortified gates, quaint narrow alleys and beautiful half-timbered houses and is best known for its cozy wine taverns and colorful riverside promenades.
