Discovered in 1841 by Sir James Clark Ross, this island is covered in ice and composed of many connected shield volcanoes. Coulman Island's elevation reaches to 6,555 feet, and it is 18 nautical miles long. The island is home to a colony of Emperor penguins, and notable landmarks include Cape Anne, named for Ross's wife, and the Coulman caldera located on the southern end.
