Founded in the late 4th century BC, Ouranoupolis is an ancient city and a modern village situated on the coastline in the northwest part of the Athos peninsula. Visitors flock to the village because of its golden beaches, the clear blue sea and lush hilltops with dazzling views of the bays. The village also houses the Christian Chalkidiki Exhibition at the old tower.
