Also known as Port Essington, Victoria Settlement hosts the ruins of an early 19th-century trading port in Australia. Originally built around a garrison for British soldiers, the settlement was abandoned in 1849. Today, it still has such standing structures as the elevated governor's residence, a hospital, a church, and various military quarters.
