Holland America recently announced plans for the largest fleet update in over 150 years, through Holland America Evolution. This multi-year initiative is an investment in the modernization of six ships, each undergoing a comprehensive bow-to-stern revitalization. Enhancements include new stateroom and suite categories, expanded outdoor spaces, elevated experiences, guest-favorite venues and new restaurant and bar options. Evolution extends to Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Westerdam, Noordam, Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam.

The renovations will take place ship by ship, beginning with the transformation of Oosterdam, which debuts in fall 2027. Ship highlights include the Grand Dutch Cafe, bringing European cafe culture to sea, and the addition of 76 staterooms, including newly introduced categories. Each space is purpose-designed for today's traveler. For example, the new Solo Verandah category offers well-appointed staterooms that feature a private balcony, dedicated workspace, glass-walled shower and signature amenities.

The new Bridgeview Suites will also be introduced on Oosterdam, offering 180-degree panoramic ocean views and approximately 900 square feet. These luxurious suites are located at the forward part of the vessel and emulate the view from the ship's bridge. Other innovative suite options, such as the Pinnacle Suite and Vista Suites, are available.

Evolution will focus on sustainability while continuing to enrich Holland America's heritage of gracious service, perfectly sized ships and destination-rich travel.

Booking far in advance ensures the best cabin selection, such as a midship cabin, being near an elevator, or families needing adjoining cabins or larger suites.
