Bellsund is a broad fjord system on the west coast of Spitsbergen, part of the Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. Surrounded by glaciers, rugged mountains, and tundra, it is known for its striking polar landscapes and rich wildlife, including seabirds, reindeer, and occasional polar bears. Historically used by whalers and trappers, the area also features remnants of early Arctic activity. Today, Bellsund is mainly visited by expedition cruises, offering remote scenery, ice-filled waters, and a true sense of Arctic isolation.
