An artificial waterway in Massachusetts, Cape Cod Canal connects Buzzards Bay with Cape Cod Bay. The waterway is approximately 7 miles long and a maximum depth of 32 feet. The canal is spanned by the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge, as well as two highways. It's construction allowed for 135 miles to be taken off of the trip around the Cape.
