The Cies Islands are an archipelago found off the southwest coast of Spain. The area was made a nature reserve in 1980 to protect against deterioration from human activity, and today only activities that will not affect the preservation of the natural resources are allowed. Two of the three islands that make up the archipelago are connected by a long strip of sand known as Rodas Beach. This beach has been described as the best beach in the world, and boasts crystalline waters and beautiful sands. During a visit, travelers will have the opportunity to relax in the sun, swim with native dolphins, or hike across the island.
