Ilulissat, located in the Disko Bay region of western Greenland, is one of the Arctic's most famous destinations. The Disko Bay area is known for its vast ice-filled waters and dramatic scenery. Visitors are drawn to the UNESCO listed Ilulissat Icefjord, where massive icebergs calve from the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier and drift into Disko Bay. Boat tours offer close views of towering ice formations and possible whale sightings. The town features colorful houses, museums, and scenic walking trails.
