Located in the remote South Atlantic, Gough Island is a rugged volcanic outpost and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. This isolated landscape is largely uninhabited, save for a small team of approximately six people who man a vital meteorological station. As one of the most pristine cool temperate island ecosystems in the world, it serves as a critical sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including massive colonies of albatrosses and northern rockhopper penguins. Access is strictly limited to scientific and conservation expeditions to protect its fragile environment from outside influence. Defined by dramatic cliffs and wind swept peaks, Gough Island remains one of the most secluded and untouched natural environments on the planet.
