The Guajara is a tributary connected to the Amazon River. Visitors will find many tropical birds in the region, as well as various species of animals that can be seen along the riverbank, or up in the trees. The pink river dolphin also makes its home in the area, though it is said to be an elusive animal. Riverside buffalo farms are set up along the Guajara, and travelers can interact with and learn from the "caboclos", those who have adapted to a life along the river.
