Karmoy is a traditional Norwegian town located south of Haugesund. As an island, it is surrounded by white sand beaches and waters prime for windsurfing. The inland area is full of forestland, marshes and heather moors. Travelers who venture to the northwest side of the island will find an old copper mine that is said to have been the source of the copper used to create the Statue of Liberty.
