Penzance is the town at the most southwesterly tip of England, close to "Land's End" where the rugged cliffs of the Cornish coast give way to the Atlantic Ocean. The county of Cornwall occupies a long and remote peninsula, rugged and windswept with rough granite moorlands in the north, but also lush and tranquil to the south.
