Soufriere, the original capital city on the island, can be found on the west coast of Saint Lucia. Founded by the French, the city is now home to many of their descendants who still live in the area. Travelers who visit Soufriere have access to nearby popular attractions including a large volcanic peak known as the Pitons, and Sulphur Springs - a "drive-through" volcano surrounded by various hot springs. Other options include a tour of the Soufriere Estate with its botanical garden and Diamond Falls, or a hike through St. Lucia's Rainforest for the chance to see many species of wildlife and the Enbas Saut Falls.
