This city is located at the northern tip of Japan. Visitors can head to Cape Soya, the northernmost point, and view the Russian island of Sakhalin. Established in 1685, the island was first inhabited by Ainu. Baseball fans will want to visit the museum dedicated to Daisuke Matsuzaka.
