Cruises to Thailand hold an exotic allure. On the island of Phuket, called the "Pearl of Thailand," turquoise waters edge the glorious beaches, which give way to a fertile interior that supports rice, cacao, rubber, pineapple and cashew production. More splendid coconut-lined beaches await in Koh Samui, which also boasts the stunning Na Muang waterfalls. Vibrant Bangkok offers a more cosmopolitan experience, but look beyond its modern skyline and you'll find some 400 Buddhist temples, among them Wat Po, which houses a 150-foot-long reclining Buddha. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha holds another must-see -- a 31-inch Buddha carved from a single piece of green jasper.
